Buyers need to register at the front counter on the day of the auction. Simply head to reception and our team will assist in getting you set up.
Alternatively, if you are certain that you will be attending the auction to bid and buy, you can complete the Private Registration form in advance. You must submit the required documentation through the form before we can register you on the system.
VIEW REGISTRATION INFORMATIONYes, you need a bidding number. Head to reception to check in or register your account.
Our team will check you in for bidding and provide you with your number. Keep this number to hand, as you will need to show it to the auctioneer if you successfully purchase a vehicle.
Traders need to register their account before bidding. Complete the Dealer Registration Form through our website to apply for a trade account.
REGISTER FOR A TRADE ACCOUNTThere is no fee to register an account. Registration is completely free for both private and trade buyers.
You do not need to pay a deposit before bidding.
If you successfully purchase a vehicle, provide your bidding number to the auctioneer and then head to the side of the rostrum to leave a deposit.
The deposit is 10% of the hammer price, subject to a minimum deposit of £300.
If the vehicle is sold to you, you cannot back out of the purchase.
Once the gavel goes down, a legally binding contract is formed and you, as the buyer, must fulfil the purchase.
Failure to complete the purchase may result in your deposit being retained and your ability to bid at Newark Motor Auctions being removed.
First of all, congratulations. Once the vehicle has been sold to you, you are committed to the purchase.
Head to the side of the rostrum to submit your deposit and secure the vehicle. You can pay the remaining balance as soon as you wish and collect the vehicle once payment has been completed.
Some vehicles will have reserve prices.
If your bid meets the reserve price, the auctioneer will sell the vehicle to you. Otherwise, it will be recorded as a Provisional Bid and we will contact the seller to see whether they will accept your offer.
We have viewing times available so you can view the stock before bidding.
As all vehicles are sold as seen, buyers should inspect the vehicle and satisfy themselves as to its condition before placing a bid.
VIEW BUYING INFORMATIONA Provisional Bid means there is a reserve price on the vehicle and your bid has not quite met it.
The vehicle will be recorded provisionally and we will contact the seller to see whether they will accept your bid.
We will take a deposit to secure the vehicle for you. This will be reimbursed if your bid is not accepted.
“Sold as seen” means that the vehicle is sold in its current condition.
We do not offer warranties, assurances or guarantees with our vehicles. It is your responsibility as the buyer to research and inspect the vehicle before committing to bid.
If the vehicle is yours and you wish to keep it as a personal vehicle, you will need to send the V5 to the DVLA with your details as the new keeper.
The DVLA will then issue a new V5 showing you as the registered keeper.
Some vehicles are sold without documentation.
You can check which documents are available with a vehicle before bidding through the website. Alternatively, you can view the documents physically at our site by speaking to a member of the reception team.

Payment for your vehicle must be completed within 24 hours of purchasing the vehicle.

Yes, your deposit will be deducted from the final balance due for the vehicle.
You will only need to pay the remaining balance after your deposit has been deducted.
Failure to complete payment may result in storage fees of £10 plus VAT per day being applied while the vehicle remains on site.
Your bidding privileges may also be revoked until the outstanding balance has been paid.

Yes. Before driving the vehicle on a public road, you must arrange valid insurance and vehicle tax.
You must also satisfy yourself that the vehicle is roadworthy and legally compliant before leaving the site.

Yes. The vehicle balance, buyer’s fees and agreed delivery charge must be paid in full before the vehicle can leave our site.
We cannot release a vehicle for delivery while there is an outstanding balance on the buyer’s account.

Please make sure there is safe and suitable access for the transporter and that somebody is available to inspect and accept the vehicle on arrival.

Bring your vehicle to our site along with all of the relevant documents. Park the vehicle in our main car park, take a note of the mileage and then head to reception.

We deduct a commission rate of 7.5% plus VAT from the vehicle’s final selling price.

We hold auctions every week. Your vehicle will normally be entered into a sale within seven days of being entered with us.
Vehicles are usually entered into an auction within seven days.
Once the buyer has completed their final payment for your vehicle, we will aim to release your funds within five to seven working days.

No. We do not offer reserve prices on vehicles entered into our auctions.

If your vehicle does not sell at the first auction, we will enter it into one further auction.
